10 Baits, 10 Bass, 20 Minute Challenge!

The Challenge: Catch 10 bass on 10 different baits in 20 minutes on a Clearlake, on the weekend, with heavy angling pressure. There are 14 rods on deck just in case something goes wrong. Here we go!

The challenge begins with Matt setting his Minn Kota Talons so that the boat doesn't move during the entire challenge. The goal is to catch all these fish without ever moving the boat!

He gets bit on the first cast, ultimately losing the fish. Several casts later the first fish is in the boat! Several minutes later he catches a Clearlake, California Smallmouth. On this lake Smallmouth are called "Unicorns" because they're so incredibly rare!

In the end Matt isn't able to complete the challenge, catching only 6 of the 10 bass he was searching for. He gives some great information along the way about retrieves, lure speed, and how to catch bass in Fall and Summer.

How To Win A Tournament | Don't Do What We Did!!

Do you fish tournaments? Ever lose a MONSTER BASS when it counted? We lost a GIANT during this tournament and it cost us the win! We still got 2nd but let's face it, no one remembers 2nd place.

This tournament was such a mixed bag of emotions. On the one hand we made excellent decisions and adapted to changing conditions, resulting in the biggest bag of the tournament. On the other hand, we lost the fish that would have easily taken the win. Its easy to look back now and see where we could have adapted but in the moment those split second decisions were the difference between winning and losing.

We hope you guys continue to enjoy these "story videos". If you do, let us know in the comments and we'll continue to include them on a regular basis.

What's the Craziest Thing You've Ever Hooked While Fishing?? Here's Matt's Story!

Crazy things happen on the lake! We plan to catch fish but sometimes we hook birds, animals, and who knows what else! What's the craziest thing you've ever caught? Here's the story of  Matt's most bizarre experiences!

The Osprey is understandable. The bird is curious and if you've thrown a swimbait for any length of time you've probably had a close call. But what was the beaver thinking? That one is just crazy!

In case you find yourself in this kind of situation there are a few tools that will make it a little easier to free your accidental catch. A net, pliers, and wire cutters are essential to getting the job done cleanly. With smaller animals simply roll them in the net and work through the mesh to free the hooks. This eliminates the danger to humans of being pecked, clawed, etc... and it restricts the animal's movement so it doesn't hurt itself while panicking.
