Is Your Bass Boat Actually Covered? Insurance Issues You Need To Know Before Its Too Late!

No one likes talking about insurance but are you sure you're covered during a tournament? Does being on a "pro staff" put your tow vehicle in jeopardy? Is all of your tackle covered if you have a major incident? These don't need to be grey areas, you deserve to know exactly when you are and are not covered. Today we're posing all the tough questions to Ben Green, a marine insurance specialist, so that we can all be more prepared in case we're involved in a crash.

Just a few days after Matt's accident the insurance issues were beginning to unfold and Matt vowed that when it was over he would do a video to help the entire TacticalBassin family better understand potential issues and how to avoid them. He is by no means an insurance expert but he learned some tough lessons and doesn't want you to experience the same. When we found out Ben Green was in town (an actual expert on the subject) for a big tournament on Clearlake, we knew we had to track him down and get real answers to educate the Tactical Family.

Ben was kind enough to take part of his pre-fishing day to answer our questions. This video isn't about getting you a new insurance guy (though we are including Ben’s information here and below because we trust him and appreciate that he took the time to do this for all of us) its about making sure you know the exact questions to ask your insurance agent. Too many anglers have "grey areas" in their policy and that shouldn't be the case. Take the time to watch this video to the end, understand the questions, and get yourself coverage that is going to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Matt thought he had all the coverage he needed, in fact he was confident that he'd "over-insured" himself, but there were still gaps and a lot of issues developed as a result. Don't wait until it happens to you to find out where the gaps might be. Take a few minutes out of your day and ask your agent the right questions. If you're not comfortable with the answers, there are only 3 (to my knowledge) marine specialists in the country. If you'd like to reach out to Ben we're including the link to his website and facebook page below.

Pending World Record Catfish!

Tim was using 6 lb line and a spinning rod when this giant catfish bit! The fight lasted over an hour with so many drag screaming runs we lost track. Come along and watch the entire fight play out! The fish has been submitted for the Channel Catfish All-Tackle Length Record and is currently pending.

One of the most exciting aspects of fishing is that you never know what's going to bite. Tim was throwing a Neko Rig for bass on light tackle. He was searching for smallmouth when the big cat surprised him.

Quality tackle made all the difference in this fight! There is no doubt that lesser gear would have failed under the strain of the battle. Below is a breakdown of the gear Tim was using when he subdued this monster.

Camp Fire - A Bass Fishing Story

Are you proud to be a bass fisherman? You're about to be! A few weeks ago the bass fishing industry came together and supported 22 of their own in the midst of tragedy. Here is a story the news overlooked...

The Camp Fire devastated Paradise, California and the surrounding communities. An incredible number of people lost their lives, and an unfathomable number of people escaped with nothing but their lives. Amongst those individuals were a bunch of bass fishermen! These aren't strangers, these aren't stories on the news, these are real people like you and I, some of them members of the TacticalBassin Family!

The news tells of devastation but they didn't tell you that Paradise, CA has a bass club. 22 bass fishermen in that club lost all their belongings and 2 lost their lives. Word of this tragedy spread through the bass fishing community very rapidly and a handful of amazing companies banded together to do something about it.

These are the brands that came together to support the Paradise Bass Club.

EPIC Trip Back East! | Major Lesson In Bass Fishing History

Matt just got back from an awesome fishing trip in Kentucky and Tennessee! He met up with some great guys and fished a bunch of lakes, even fishing a tournament on Dale Hollow! What he didn't expect, was to be hit so hard by the historical significance of these amazing fisheries!

There are a bunch of fishing videos coming from the trip, including a first-person perspective from the Billy Westmoreland Invitational Tournament. In the meantime, Matt got in front of the camera to share his thoughts and experiences from the trip. He got a lot more than he bargained for when he walked back through the history of Smallmouth Bass fishing in Tennessee and he shares his perspective in this video.

Wondering what TacticalBassin methods caught fish during the trip? Below is a list of the baits that the guys were able to catch fish on while road tripping for a week.
